PAST, PRESENT, FUTURE

OUR PAST

Eddie Baguma started KULA MINISTRIES because he was tired of seeing the same problems repeat themselves. Child abandonment, food insecurity, and the inability for families to fully support themselves were just a few of the things he would see week after week. He wanted to stop working in reactive solutions and start taking a proactive role in stopping these problems before they start.

It was from this place that he began to explore what it would mean to equip individuals with skills that would allow them to determine their futures, while at the same time pouring into peoples lives so that they would come to know their Creator and in turn see the Love of Christ. Knowing that when we meet peoples physical needs, (hunger, medicine, support, etc.) we earn permission to speak into people's lives about the things that eternally matter.

Eddie decided this is what he wants his life to be marked by, meeting the needs of those around him, while pointing them to the Cross;  this became KULA MINISTRIES.

OUR PRESENT

Today, KULA works within the Bukasa Buloba community- sponsoring school fees for primary students, covering the medical needs of children, and running weekly discipleship meetups.

We are focused on bringing education and health care to families and children in our area, while at the same time focusing on their spiritual growth through relationship building and consistent presence.

It's been incredible to the weight of these interactions in the lives of these families and how the Lord continues to use each one for His Glory and to bring them closer to Him.

We are excited to see where the Lord leads over the next few years and how He continues to reach the families in Bukasa Buloba through new partnerships and the programs that He sees fit.

OUR FUTURE

The future of KULA is marked by the growth and sustainability of the abandoned children and families in Bukasa Buloba; this is how we will know if what we are doing is working.

We need to see individuals coming to know Christ, new and thriving businesses, families paying school fees, a drop in the mortality rate in regards to preventable disease, and more people stepping into the governmental leadership roles on the local level.

These are the markings of a fruitful future at KULA.
